Braid-Out Plus Braided Headband Tutorial

Hot summer days and easy, carefree hairstyles for my natural hair go hand in hand.  Summer tends to be a little sporadic here in the UK, so when we have a few days of warm sunshine, we tend to make the most of it.

Today was such a day and of course, being Friday, I had an even better reason to let my hair down…or rather out.  This hairstyle is perfect for natural and curly hair and can be recreated in less than 5 minutes.

First, begin with braids.  The previous night, I had moisturised, sealed and braided my hair into about 15 braids.  Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you can put in between 15-20 medium sized braids.

The next day, I released the braids and got a lovely braid-out hairstyle.

To be honest, I could easily rock the braid-out as a hairstyle in itself for a few days before adding a braided headband to change up my look.  However, as per usual, my braid-outs come out perfect on the days I am NOT rocking the braid-out as a hairstyle.

Anyhoos!  Now you’ve got the braid-out hairstyle, section out some hair from the front and braid, flat twist or canerow all across the front, tucking or pinning the end behind your ear.

You can wear the braid-out + braided headband as a style as is, or accessorise with a hair accessory.  I used a flower hair clip, which is so ideal for the summer.

And here is the pictorial!! :)
